A new futuristic Electric Forecourt is due to be built at Broadland Gate next year, following the completion of contracts with GRIDSERVE. The planning application for the development was heard at Planning Committee in September. The Broadland District Councillors praised the development, and the plans were granted unanimous approval.
The future proofed facility will be one of the first to open in the UK and will support the growing electric vehicle charging network. The site will feature 24 high-speed charging bays, 8 branded and 2 HGV chargers, with the opportunity to add more charging points as demand increases. GRIDSERVE’s aim is to make the forecourt a destination with facilities such as a coffee shop, airport-style lounge, and convenience store.
GRIDSERVE are anticipated to commence construction shortly with the site open in 2021.
