The development of a new McDonald’s restaurant with drive-thru facility on Plot 2b at Broadland Gate has gained planning consent. The application for the restaurant was heard at Planning Committee with officer recommendation and was granted unanimous approval. The Broadland District Councillors highlighted the need for the food outlet to support and provide for other occupiers on site. 

The restaurant will be well located adjacent to Lidl to provide food and drink offer for users of the site, passing customers and those in the surrounding area. The development is considered to be complementary to the range of uses proposed for Broadland Gate. Once built and operational, the restaurant is anticipated to provide over 65 full and part time jobs to the local community.
